May 2010Joseph "Joey" Matchett, IV was appointed as Chief Professional Officer for the Boys & Girls Club of Moultrie/Colquitt County, GA
March 2009The Department of the Navy awarded Pamela Almozon the distinguish honor of being Sailor of the Year!
January 2009Barbara Matchett officially retired from South Georgia Medical Center after 40 years of dedicated, faithful and hard working service as a Certified Pediatric Registered Nurse.
December 2008The Thomas Family celebrated Christmas together at the Boys & Girls Club in Valdosta, GA.
July 2008The Thomas Family Reunion celebrated the 4th of July weekend at the Boys & Girls Club at Lake Laurie, in Valdosta Ga. 104 family members RSVP and roughly 80 plus attended. This by far has been one of the best events we've ever pulled off. You got to see the pictures!
June 2008Mrs. Cheryl D. Thomas received her Masters of Education degree from the University of Phoenix.
May 2008Miss Chelsea R. Lewis graduated from Valdosta High School and is currently enrolled as a freshman at Georgia Military College in Valdosta, GA.
July 2007Kimala Hunter was joined in Holy matrimony to our very own Terrance Howard on July 7, 2007.
June 2007Mrs. Teona "Nicky" Kirksey graduated from Troy University with her Master of Science degree in Human Resource Management on June 8, 2007. Teona also passed the Human Resource Certification Institute's Professional in Human Resources (PHR) exam.
May 2007Jarell Thomas received his high school diploma from Valdosta High School on May 25, 2007.
April 2007Uncle Andrew "Ander" Walker went home to glory on April 07, 2007. This is Mu's baby brother and he was the last of the siblings to pass away.
November 2006Joseph and Kimberly Matchett were joined in Holy matrimony on November 18, 2006 at The Crescent in Valdosta, GA.
August 2006Marcus Thomas completed his Associate of Science degree in Computer System Administration. Marcus currently holds an AA degree in General Studies and AS in Networking Technologies.
July 2006The Walker Douglas Family Reunion took place on July 14-16, 2006 in West Palm Beach, Fl.
June 2006Once again, The Thomas Family Reunion set it off by hosting a "Pool Party" held at the Lake Laurie Boys and Girls Club in Valdosta, GA. This was our summer kick off where we had lots of food and a beautiful pool to enjoy. We had a great time and hope to do it again next year.
January 2006Missionary Barbara J. Matchett AKA "The Missy" was appointed the District Missionary over the David Miller Memorial District which consist of 8 churches and approximately 40-50 missionaires (maybe more)and the entire Women's Department of all these churches. The official installation will be held during the State Women's Convention in October 2006.

Mother Betty R. Thomas, our oldest sister and aunt, was appointed as a member of the Mother Board by her Pastor, Elder A. Sermons of St Paul COGIC in Cecil, GA.

December 2005Teona Kirksey(Nicky)earned her BS Degree in Management from Troy State University on December 16,2005. Teona is currently pursuing her masters degree in Human Resource Management.
September 2005Chester Thomas, son of the late Ralph and Bernell Thomas, passed away on September 2, 2005. Home Going services were held on Septemeber 11, 2005 at Evangel Temple Church in Valdosta, GA.
July 2005The Thomas Family Reunion 4th of July holiday was celebrated at the old landmark "517 Orange Street" in Valdosta, Ga hosted by Sylvia and Van Thomas.
January 2005Minister Lakeisha S. Padgett accepted her calling into the ministry of Jesus Christ and delivered her trial sermon on January 31st at the Church of Pine Hill in Valdosta, Ga.
December 2004Our beloved mother/grandmother/great-grand mother Eva Mae Walker Thomas went home to be with the Lord on December 8, 2004. Home Going Services was held on Saturday, December 11, 2004 at 11:00 A.M. at Tabernacle Church of God in Christ church in Valdosta, Ga.
June 2004Amber Smith joined the United States NAVY as a NAVY Seaman. She shipped out to Great Lakes, IL for boot camp on June 14, 2004.
April 2004Onie J. Lane was buried on April 25, 2004 at County Line AME church cemetary. He is Mu's brother-n-law, husband of the late Edna Lane.
January 2004Aunt Nettie Mae Carter of Miami, Fl passed away on January 5, 2004. She was the last sibling of our late father/grandfather Roy D. Thomas Sr.
December 2003Kalvin Kirksey, husband of Teona “Nicky” Kirksey, completed his Master of Education degree from Troy State University on December 12, 2003.

Steve Thomas, brother of Chester Thomas, passed away on December 16, 2003.

July 2003Walker/Douglas Family Reunion weekend, hosted by James and Vermatine Moore held in Valdosta at Grassy Pond.
June 2003Thomas Family Reunion weekend in Valdosta. The theme was “Back Together Again” held at Grassy Pond and Wild Adventures.
December 2002Cherre L. Moore completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from Valdosta State University (VSU) on December 14, 2002. Cherre plans to pursue her Masters degree in Public Administration.
November 2002Latoya Thomas was elected as the 9th grade homecoming queen at Lowndes High School. Latoya is an honor student at Lowndes High School in Valdosta, GA.
October 2002Eva “Becky” Mallard completed her degree in Medical Assistant from North Florida Institute on October 17, 2002 and obtained national certification (NCMA) one month later. Becky plans to pursue her training in Obstetrics Gynecology (OB-GYN) and later obtain her LPN/RN degree.
April 2002Sylvia Thomas completed her degree in Business and Office Technology from Valdosta Technical College on April 9, 2002.
January 2002Our mother/grandmother Eva Thomas celebrated her 76th birthday.

Tracy Moore received her diploma in Health Care Assistant from Valdosta Technical College. Tracy is currently completing a LPN degree while employed at South Georgia Medical Center and plans to pursue a Registered Nurse degree.

December 2001Celebrated Christmas at St Paul COGIC at the annual Christmas program followed by a grilled steak dinner held at Barbara’s house.

Kimberly Thomas completed her Master of Public Health degree from Morehouse School of Medicine. Kimberly is the first recipient of a Masters degree in the family. Her graduation ceremony was held on May 18, 2002 in Atlanta, Ga. Kimberly plans to pursue her Ph.D. in Public Health.

Kirk Thomas, Sr. received his GED from Valdosta Technical College. Kirk was a state finalist for the Exceptional Adult Georgian in Literacy Education in 2000 and 2001.

November 2001Thanksgiving Feast held at ST Paul COGIC in Cecil, GA.
September 2001Dinner sale held over to Joey’s house in Valdosta, GA. We raised approximately $1200 in sales.
July 2001“Hotlanta” Weekend in Atlanta, GA.
May 2001Celebrated Mothers Day and honored our mother/grandmother Eva Thomas at St Paul COGIC for all her hard work and dedication to the church and the family.
March 2001"Spring Fest Cookout" held at Michael and Sheila's house in Valdosta, GA.
February 2001We celebrated our mother/grandmother, Eva Thomas, 75th birthday party at Gold Plate Restaurant in Valdosta, GA.
August 2000Thomas family travels to Disney World in Orlando, FL.
July 2000Walker/Douglas Family Reunion was hosted by Joey and Terrel Matchett in Valdosta, Ga.
May 2000Roy D. Thomas, Jr. acquires TheThomasfamilysite.com website.
August 1999The Thomas Family Reunion was officially established.
July 1999Walker/Douglas Family Reunion in West Palm Beach, FL. We chartered a 47-passenger bus and stayed at a hotel on the beautiful resorts of Singer Island.
May 1999Second dinner sale in Valdosta, GA to raise money for the West Palm Beach, FL reunion.
April 1999Yard sale held at Michael and Sheila’s house in Valdosta, GA to raise money for the West Palm Beach, FL reunion.
March 1999First dinner sale to help raise money for the Walker - Douglas family reunion in West Palm Beach, FL.
November 1998Thomas Family gathered together for a Thanksgiving Feast held at New Life Church in Valdosta,Ga.
